Advanced Techniques in Audio Recording
LEVEL 1: INTRODUCTION TO CRITICAL LISTENING:
Each student receives a "critical listening" CD for ear development. Coincident microphone practice, equalizer technique and signal controller/processor applications are refined. The class participates in a twelve hour recording session utilizing the latest direct to disk technologies.
36 Clock HoursLEVEL 2: ADVANCED TECHNIQUES IN CRITICAL LISTENING:
Upon completion of the Introductory level, students will enter this Advanced level to develop a higher understanding of analog and digital equipment relationships. Upon completion of console practice with synchronization of magnetic MDM recorders, the class will perform another twelve hour recording session and practice with digital waveform editors.
36 Clock HoursLEVEL 3: DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION APPLICATIONS:
Utilizing Digital Performer,Pro-Tool& Logic as a host MIDI/Direct to Disk program, students work with talent incorporating MIDI with computer audio, software synthesizers, samplers, mono and two track editors, finalizing the recording with CD burning software.
36 Clock HoursLEVEL 4: ADVANCED AUDIO RECORDING WORKSHOP:
"Hands on" practice of all techniques and software programs are utilized in a variety of session experiences. Each student has a series of multitrack sessions to mix ad master to produce a final compact disk resume.

Program Total Clock Hours 144The prerequisite for this program is the completion of the Audio Recording Comprehensive Program. Any professional audio engineer will agree that there is no end to the learning process in this industry. The program focuses primarily on the "practical application" hands on the equipment. This will give each an opportunity to experiment with recording techniques and interact with musicians in preparation for real world audio experiences. 1 Clock Hour = 50 Minutes
GRADUATION!
Upon satisfactory completion of all four levels, each student will receive a diploma recognized by the Florida State Board Of Education for both programs.
Unity Gain Recording Institute offers each graduate the opportunity to continually utilize the studio to record, edit and mix to gain more hands on experience and build an audio resume in preparation for employment.
