Entrance Requirements
All Unity Gain
Recording Institute students must be at least 18 years of
age and possess a high school diploma or it's equivialency.
Any students under the age of 18 years must have written
consent from a parent or legal guardian and show their ability
to excel by successfully completing "The Wonderlic"
test. (Minimum score: 21)
B.
Class Attendance
Attendance plays
a vital role in understanding and successful completion
of the program due to it's design. All subjects covered
in each class hinge upon topics discussed in previous classes.
All students are expected to prepare for each new class
by reading assigned text chapters and "hand outs".
Finally, all students must complete every class before receiving
a Certificate of Graduation for the program.
C.
Absences
Any
unexcused absence from the program will constitute a warning.
Each student is to submit in writing, the date of absence
and the reason. Three unexcused absences in any one level
of the program curriculum will result in a meeting with
the school director.
D.
Interruptions for Unsatisfactory Attendance
Any
student not fulfilling the attendance requirements can be
prevented from advancing to the next level of the program.
Absence from class more than three times in any one level
can result in interruption of the program.
E.
Credit for Previous Training
student claiming previous training in the audio engineering
field can advance to the proper level if proof of prior
experience is evident and written as well as "hands
on" exams are passed.
F.
Lateness
An
unexcused lateness will be recorded on the student's record.
Any student who is late three times will be placed on probation.
Excessive lateness may result in dismissal from the program.
G.
Makeup Work
Any
class missed during a course run, must be made up before
a certificate is issued. Classes run frequently enough to
suit the needs of most student's schedules. Special arrangements
can be made at the front desk with our administrative staff.
H.
Probation
Students
who do not comply with school regulations,or do not meet
the grading standards of the school,will be put on academic
probation and will meet with the director for further discussion.
I.
Leave of Absence
The
school strongly suggests that no student interrupt the program
of study. If nessessary, special arrangements can be made
with the director. Requests must be sumitted in writing
indicating leave, return dates and reason. Absence
can not exceed 60 days.
J.
Conduct
All students are to conduct themselves with
respect and courtesy when on school grounds. Disruptive
behavior or any destruction of school properties can result
in termination of the enrollment contract. Student complaints
can be addressed to the school director or the Commission
for Independent Education at (850) 245-3200
K.
Termination
At
the discretion of the school director, the school reserves
the right to terminate any student's enrollment rights due
to improper conduct or failure to meet academic, attendance,
or financial requirements.
L.
Re-Entry
Any
student seeking re-entry into the school can do so by appointment
with the director. Upon compliance with school rules and
regulations, the director will make the final decision.
Hours
of Operation
Class
schedules vary year round. Any interested persons can
visit the school, telephone, fax, or e-mail the school
for additional information. Each program level is held
once a week for three hours. By popular request, classes
can be conducted at any time at the discretion of the
director. Classes start quarterly scheduled at the beginning
of the year.
Unity Gain Recording is also available for professional
recording sessions and at times can operate 24 hours.
If for any reason a course or program is cancelled, any
monies paid are prorated on actual class days held as
100% of the remainder is paid to the student.
Holidays
Classes
that may fall on the following holidays will be rescheduled
for the next class meeting: Christmas, New Years Day,
Easter, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day.
